Storis Rolls Out Product Suggestion Portal

Retail technology supplier Storis has unveiled a feature that allows clients to make suggestions on software updates and development.

The Product Suggestion Portal gives retail clients the ability to submit ideas online, and then, other clients can vote for suggestions, make comments and post questions.

“This community-centric tool offers an interactive approach to development,” said Shawn McKnight, director of product management. “Our retailers understand the current needs of the business, and we want to give an even stronger voice to that insight.”

Once the suggestions roll in, Storis will develop the ideas. A scoring system will be used to determine a development roadmap for viable ideas. The value of a customer’s suggestion and overall impact on the customer base will be two important factors in prioritization.

“We have the most aggressive release schedule in the industry, and have turned a new version of the software around every eight months for the last 10 years,” said Dom Costantino, vice president of development production.

Prior to the portal, Storis had encouraged retailers to make suggestions for development and improvements through their representative.

“The Product Suggestion Portal really allows our development team to have a pulse on the needs of the industry with more transparency than ever before,” said Mike Alvord, vice president of application development. “We are really happy with the level of participation we have seen already.”

Ideas can be viewed by most recent, trending and popular. Clients have the ability to subscribe to individual ideas to receive updates from the development team, including tracking the status of their enhancement and alerts when feedback is posted.

Storis clients can access the portal today through the client portal.
