Consumer Sentiment Hits 5-Month High

Consumer sentiment climbed to a five-month high in June, according to the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers released Friday.
The index climbed to a 96.1 reading, rebounding from a drop in May.
“Consumers voiced in the first half of 2015 the largest and most sustained increase in economic optimism since 2004,” according to the report. “The economic slowdown has ended according to consumers.”
Last June, the reading was at 82.5.
