Bedding producer Therapedic International has signed a licensing agreement to sell its mattresses in Sri Lanka, the Republic of Maldives and the Republic of Seychells.
The agreement with Comfort World International begins immediately with the Sri Lankan company producing and selling mattress under the Therapedic name.
Founded in 1998, Comfort World International has been in the sleep products industry for three years. The company uses high-quality manufacturing capabilities and is a source of international bedding products at local market rates. The partnership will allow Sri Lankan consumers access to the Therapedic line.
“Over the last several years, we have seen exponential growth abroad,” said Gerry Borreggine, president and CEO. “As we continue to expand, we remain dedicated to seeking out strategic partnerships with companies that share our vision for building an internationally respected brand.” Borreggine said Sri Lanka is an underserved market in need of high-quality beds.
“We chose Therapedic International for the same reason that they chose us—the people behind the brand, said Naushad Mohideen, chairman of Comfort World International. “We feel their senior team of executives are among the leading innovators in the category and have a very good reputation for working with and supporting their licensees.”
