Designed by Diana Henry, products in AR2 will be introduced at the summer markets. All products in the collaboration are exclusive to Napa Home.
“AR2 appeals to the legions of America Retold fans everywhere,” said KC Cunningham, president and creative director for Napa Home. “This is exciting news for both consumers and retailers.”
AR2 comes on the heels of Napa naming Robert Jones vice president of creative last year and the company’s entry into the holiday category in January.
“AR2 is a fresh take on Diana’s timeless design sense,” Jones said. “It’s a little more modern, but still with the time-honored traditions that made America Retold so popular.”
Henry started America Retold in 1995 to design and manufacture classically inspired products with a French style. The company made its mark by taking items once limited to specialty stores and offering them affordably for use at home. The company sells to many of the nation’s top retailers.
“AR2 is brand new,” Henry said. “I revisited the shops of Paris, the markets of the Left Bank, the patisseries, boulangeries and brasseries—all of these offered inspiration for AR2—and our first collection, Mercantile.”
The collection features display stands, cloches, wall trays, serving shelves and dishes, cake stands, risers, cheese markers and coasters. Items are handcrafted in nickel, marble, and etched and pressed glass by some of the world’s best artisans.
“With Mercantile, old world meets new world,” Henry said. “And in the process, ideas for alternative uses unfold, bringing the thrill of the ‘find’ to the retailer, who in turn, delights in the opportunity to pass this on to their customers. Surely, this is the true meaning of ‘Mercantile.’”
