Universal Furniture Names Marketing Director

Neil MacKenzie has been named director of marketing for Universal Furniture International

He reports to Jeff Scheffer, Universal president and CEO.

The appointment follows the company’s management reorganization earlier this year.

MacKenzie joins Universal Furniture from the Golf Channel and GolfNow.com, where he was senior manager of technology sales for the mid-Atlantic region, working with independent and multi-course operators to better leverage technology and marketing opportunities.

He previously served as director of marketing for Stanley Furniture and its Young America brand. MacKenzie also worked in advertising at the Mullen and Burris agencies, working on a variety of B2B brands focused on the home furnishings, golf and retail banking sectors.  

“As the final step in our management reorganization, Neil is charged with making Universal a best-in-class marketer in the industry. He adds valuable skill sets to our team and strengthens our ability to serve the present and emerging needs of our expanding customer base,” Scheffer said. “Neil is a bright, curious and thoughtful team player who desires to move the needle as we move forward with our expansion plans.”
