New York Area Ashley HomeStores Change Ownership

A group of Ashley Furniture HomeStores in New York have changed ownership.

The stores, located in Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, N.Y., are now owned and operated by Factory Direct Enterprises. Formerly the stores were owned and operated by Hartsdale Convertibles.

The new owners currently operate seven stores in Metro New York and New Jersey.

“On May 1st, we welcomed every Hartsdale HomeStore employee to our Ashley family,” said Eugene Chrinian, CEO of Factory Direct Enterprises. “We believe that working together we can achieve a new level of success that will create a brighter future for all.”

Five HomeStores transferred to Factory Direct while one store located at 558 86th Street in Brooklyn, N.Y., did not transfer and closed April 30. All of the employees from that store joined Factory Direct and will work at the remaining Long Island locations.

Factory Direct Enterprises, based in Edison, N.J., is a longtime licensee of Ashley Furniture HomeStore often recognized for its operational and sales excellence. The company currently operates stores in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Middletown, N.Y.; New Rochelle, N.Y.; Nanuet, N.Y; Fairfield, N.J.; Paramus, N.J.; and Secaucus, N.J. Factory Direct also operates a distribution center and warehouse in Edison, N.J., and plans to open a new HomeStore in Lake Grove, N.Y., later this month.
