In his new post, Price reports to Denny Boyd, president and is responsible for purchasing components, equipment and other materials needed in the design and manufacture of Boyd’s sleep products and accessories in the U.S. and overseas.
Before joining Boyd, Price was the senior buyer of power equipment for Sears Holdings, representing more than 1,900 stores and $370 million in purchasing dollars.
From 2012 until 2014, Price served as senior buyer for hardware, automotive, fans/heaters and pet merchandise at Roses/Maxway and Super 10 stores. Prior to that he was a senior buyer for Tractor Supply Co., and also held buyer and divisional merchandise manager responsibilities at Fred’s Discount Stores from 2005 to 2009.
Price will relocate from Chicago to St. Louis, where Boyd Specialty Sleep is based, in the coming months.
In other news, Boyd has added more than 300,000 cubic feet of storage space to its Fontana, Calif., manufacturing facility to keep up with increased demand.
The added space will enable Boyd to store an additional 135 40-foot-high cube containers.
“It enables us to maintain our commitment to customers of a 24-hour ship time,” Boyd said. “It also allows us to add additional products to our Thomasville, Broyhill and Lane furniture lines.”
