Select Comfort 1Q Sales Climb 27%

Specialty bedding retailer Select Comfort has posted first quarter sales of $349.8 million for the quarter ended April 4, a 27 percent increase over sales of $276.4 million in the same quarter last year.
Same-store sales for the quarter climbed 22 percent.
Net income for the company’s first quarter was $28.8 million compared to net income of nearly $17 million for the same period last year.
“Continued strong consumer response to the combination of our advertising, benefit-driven products and differentiated retail experience delivered performance ahead of expectations,” said Shelly Ibach, president and CEO. “Our investments in innovation, technology and distribution are growing the business in a sustainable, profitable manner and creating value for our shareholders.”
