Furniture Hall of Fame Elects Officers

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation has elected new officers and a new board member.
Michael Amini, Aico has been elected board president; Roger D. Friesen, Casana Furniture Co., first vice president; Bob Maricich, International Market Centers, second vice president; and Kevin Castellani, Furniture Today, secretary-treasurer. Bill Kimbrell, Star Furniture, will continue to serve on the executive committee as chairman of the board.
New directors serving a three-year term are Andy Bernstein, FurnitureDealer.net; Irv Blumkin, Nebraska Furniture Mart; and Alexander Peykar, Nourison Inds.
“The last six months have been a period of great transformation for the Hall because our board is comprised of the industry’s leaders who are willing to give their time and energy to accomplish great things for our industry,” Amini said. “We are moving forward with great energy as the only organization that embraces all segments of our industry around the world. We have much work ahead of us to create a banquet that is exciting and the premier celebration for the whole industry as we move forward aggressively with preserving our history and our story. This is our mission and we are the organization to do it.”
Re-elected members serving an additional three-year term are Aminy I. Audi, L. & J.G. Stickley; George Cartledge III, Grand Home Furnishings; Randy Ford, Leggett & Platt; Jack L. Hawn Jr., Zenith Global Logistics; and Dennis Novosel, Stoney Creek Furniture.
The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation is open to all home furnishings industry companies, organizations and individuals that do business in the United States. Membership includes eligibility to nominate candidates for consideration by the selection committee, and the opportunity to help preserve the history and heritage of the industry. The 2015 inductees—individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the U.S. furniture industry—will be honored with the American home furnishings industry’s highest honor at a gala banquet Oct. 19 at the High Point Market.
