The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation has rebranded to emphasize the organization now embraces all segments of the home furnishings industry throughout the world.
The rebranding includes the creation of a marketing campaign based on the theme of Experience the Power, featuring a new logo, introduction of a symbol representing the Affie award, a campaign website, fresh marketing materials and a redesign of the organization’s website, which is under development. The Foundation also is planning a re-energized induction banquet during the October High Point Market that will be a fun, vibrant celebration of the industry.
The changes are designed to better reflect the growing diversity and international reach of the home furnishings industry, as well as to encourage more participation by younger leaders.
“This new branding projects the sense of renewed energy and fresh approach that distinguishes the industry’s premier organization of leaders,” said Michael Amini, organization’s board of directors and CEO of Aico. “It symbolizes our new momentum that will us move forward creatively and lead the industry in preserving our story in interesting, fun new ways.”
The Hall of Fame’s core mission will continue to focus on capturing and presenting the home furnishings industry’s history through “innovative videos, photos and words,” Amini said. “This is our industry and it is up to each of us to play a role in preserving our stories and documenting our collective history for future generations. With our expanded scope, we are embracing an even wider, more diverse segment of the home furnishings community.”
In early June, three to five new inductees to the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame will be announced. This year, as part of the group’s new mission, inductees will be chosen by a seven-member committee consisting of three members of the Foundation board and four members from various segments of the home furnishings industry.
New inductees to the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame will join the Hall at the annual gala Sunday, Oct. 18, at which time they will be presented with the Affie award. Designed in the shape of a flame, the Affie symbolizes the enduring spirit of the home furnishings industry and the energy required to achieve the accomplishments, innovation and leadership of each Hall of Fame member.
“The banquet will be an entertaining evening that will be a powerful experience to attend,” Amini said. “It will be inspirational and exciting—an evening you don’t want to miss.”
The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation is open to all home furnishings industry companies, organizations and individuals that do business in the United States. Membership includes eligibility to nominate candidates for consideration by the Selection Committee, and the opportunity to help preserve the history and heritage of the industry. Memberships are available at various levels. More information about joining can be found online.
