Pulaski Furniture is partnering with country music star and North Carolina native Eric Church to create a whole home collection called Highway to Home.
The collection is in development and will debut at the October High Point market. This will be the second collection the company has introduced with a music icon. Last year, Pulaski introduced Rhythm & Home based on the lifestyle and music of jazz musician Matt Marshak.
Church is a three-time ACM and CMA Award winner with two platinum albums, four gold albums, and five No. 1 singles.
According to George Revington, CEO of Home Meridian, the partnership brings a fresh, unique approach to the market with a performer still rising in his popularity and exposure.
“Eric is a true, authentic performer—an artist that crosses the country music and rock genres,” Revington said. “He is connecting now with our target audience.”
The collaboration is founded on the life experiences as Church travels from venue to venue.
“Highway to Home is about the journey home—the ultimate destination,” said Page Wilson, Pulaski president. “This is not necessarily about Eric’s songs or performances, but instead founded on the adventures and experiences of a traveling musician through the eyes of a creative writer as he travels the world from show to show and home again.”
Church is no stranger to the furniture industry and has family ties to the business. His father Ken Church began his career at Broyhill and served as president and CEO of Clayton Marcus, president and COO of LADD Upholstery Group and president and CEO of Southern Furniture.
“Highway to Home is a natural extension of my family heritage,” Eric Church said. “My dad was in the industry. My first job was in a furniture plant, so yes, it is in my blood. Staying connected with my roots has always been important to me … my history and connection run deep in this business.”
The collection will include bedroom, dining room, occasional and upholstery. Designs will range from industrial to newly defined traditional.
“This is more about a lifestyle, shared experiences and memories than it is about wood, fabric and springs,” Church said. “It is truly about the experiences that make up our lives and building our home around those experiences and memories.”
Church has designated a portion of the proceeds from collection sales to be donated to JDRF through his Chief Cares foundation. JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research. Church, who has personal ties to diabetes through family members, is committed to combating the disease that strikes all ages.
