Fire Damages Sam Moore Furniture Plant

Fire damaged the roof of the Sam Moore furniture plant in Bedford on Monday evening. No one was injured.

Lt. Matt Scott, of the Bedford Fire Department, said he estimated the fire caused at least $50,000 of damage to the roof. The interior of the building was spared, he said, adding he thought the plant can continue to operate.

Firefighters believe an ember or something similar came out of an exhaust pipe on top of the building and caused the blaze, he said.
