King Koil Makes Management Changes

Bedding supplier King Koil Malaysia, new owner of King Koil Licensing Co., has outlined changes to the U.S. management team.

Jin Hoe Yeoh, chairman and managing director of King Koil Malaysia, is chairman of King Koil Licensing Co., and Teck Hong Goh has been named CEO. Both Goh and Yeoh sit on the board of directors of the parent company and will sit on the new King Koil board.

Former president and COO Dave Roberts has stepped aside and will be a consultant for the newly created board.

Owen Shoemaker succeeds Roberts as COO and reports to Goh and the board. Shoemaker also holds the title of executive vice president.

Shoemaker joined King Koil in 2009 and has held a number of executive posts at the company encompassing marketing, merchandising and product development duties. He will now oversee the company’s day-to-day operations.

“The mission will be to accelerate the growth and development of the King Koil brand in the United States and worldwide,” Shoemaker said.

No other personnel announcements were made and terms of the Feb. 12 acquisition by Yeoh’s firm, Kaiserkorp Corp. in Kuala Lumpur, were not disclosed.

“The company is in great hands and with the desire and ability to aggressively reposition King Koil to attain a greater, more prominent position, the future of King Koil is very promising,” Roberts said.

Prior to the sale, he ownership of King Koil Licensing Co. has been held by the Caldwell Family Trust.
