Jaipur Rugs will be showcasing the National Geographic Home collection at next month’s High Point Market.
National Geographic, one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations, and Jaipur have signed a multi-year agreement.
“Jaipur is excited to collaborate with National Geographic, because it offers an opportunity to express a unique fusion of art forms. Both companies use our own creative mediums to not only capture the word’s stories, but also share them through tangible, enduring art forms,” said Asha Chaudhary, Jaipur’s CEO. “We are thrilled to be able to infuse such passion into a collection for our consumers to connect with and bring into their homes.”
Under the agreement, National Geographic and Jaipur have partnered to produce a line of colorful rugs based on images from National Geographic’s image archive.
“For more than a century, National Geographic explorers and photographers have traveled the world to capture stunning images and collect compelling stories,” said Krista Newberry, National Geographic’s senior vice president of licensing in North America. “Jaipur is one of the leaders in the textile industry, and we are excited to work with them to bring some of our incredible photography and artwork to consumers on rugs, pillows and poufs.”
All of National Geographic’s net proceeds support exploration, conservation, research and education programs.
