Long-time Gardiner’s owners Gary Mullaney and Bob Iwanowski plan to retire.
After the acquisition of Gardiner’s, based in Baltimore, the retailer will have 17 showrooms and two clearance centers operating in three states — Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The retailer will have annual sales in excess of $135 million and retail showroom space of about 1 million square feet.
The two retailers share many of the same suppliers, service vendors, advertising agency, banks and business philosophy.
Wolf plans to continue selling from existing retail locations and deliver and service customers from its Brookhill Road distribution center. In a letter to suppliers, the company said it hopes to complete the transaction quickly following inspection and inventory.
Wolf’s has established a transition team consisting of Doug Shaffer, Wolf senior vice president; Brian Mullaney, regional manager who will be joining Wolf’s; and Jocelyn Wolf, who is joining the company as a regional assistant to Shaffer.
