From Home Furnishing Business

Kate Spade Home Furnishings Coming to EJ Victor, Jaipur

Luxury brand Kate Spade & Co. (NYSE: KATE) will begin the rollout of a line of home furnishings this spring to include furniture, rugs, fabric, wall pager and bedding and bath textiles through four licensed partners.

Produced under the kate spade new york brand, the home collection is set to debut between May and spring 2016.

Furniture supplier EJ Victor will produce and distribute the furniture; Jaipur will produce and sell the rugs; Kravet has been named the licensee for fabric and wallpaper; and DWI Holdings for bedding and bath linens.

The company said the home collections will be sold through retailers, interior design showrooms and online.

"We are intently focused on our two key axes of growth – product category expansion and geographic expansion – and reaching customers across our four category pillars, women's, men's, children's and home,” said Craig Leavitt, CEO of Kate Spade & Co. “This robust expansion of home decor offerings under the kate spade new york brand is an important step towards our vision of becoming a powerful, global, multi-channel lifestyle brand.”

The new collections will complement the brand’s existing tabletop line through Lenox Corp., table linens and kitchen textiles with Town & Country Living and stationary and gift items with Lifeguard Press.

Kate Spade Saturday, the younger sister of the fashion company, partnered in December with retailer West Elm for a collection including furniture, textiles, lighting and décor. The company has since announced it would close its Kate Spade Saturday stores due to unprofitability.
