FastFact: 4Q Bedding Sales Drop

Industry sales for the bedding category exhibited a similar consistency of previous trends.
Last year bedding stayed true to its typical trend with a third quarter sales increase. However, the category posted a decline of 19.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2014.
While the bedding industry did decline over the most recent quarter, the mattress category posted a 3.4 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2013. Bedding sales year to date are up 5 percent.
