Independent home furnishings retailer LaDiff will be hosting a local, handcrafted furniture and lighting exhibit in its Richmond, Va., store next month.
The Made in RVA Handcrafted Furniture & Lighting show will be in the retailer store March 6-22.
The event will feature 16 Richmond, Va.-area artisans.
LaDiff’s involvement in the international design community gives the company an appreciation for artisans in its hometown.
“Being a frustrated and stunted woodworker and artist myself, I have always admired the huge amount of talent that exists in Richmond,” said Andy Thornton. “We want to help showcase this impressive creative community as much as we can.”
The exhibit is organized by Kyle Lucia, a blacksmith who co-owns Phoenix Handcraft with his wife Johanna Willsey, a mosaic artist. The duo also established RVA Makers, an organization that fosters community among those interested in Richmond’s handmade culture.
LaDiff will host an opening reception Friday, March 6 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Go online for a glimpse of products on display.
