2015 by in Industry, Special Events
Otis Sawyer, president of England and senior vice president of La-Z-Boy’s non-branded upholstery and president of La-Z-Boy logistics, will deliver the keynote address at the conference set for May 12-15 at Lago Mar Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He will share information on the important role of logistics for domestic furniture manufacturers.
The annual IFTLC event provides attendees with insight on innovative technologies, new trends, and the latest legislation that may impact their businesses. This year's conference will focus on regulations impacting home delivery, the issues facing land shippers and ocean freight, and how the Internet is ushering in a smart and interconnected era for the industry.
"For many, home deliveries have become increasingly complex, with companies like Amazon, Wayfair and Overstock tipping the online retail scales," said Russ Matthews, managing director of IFTLC. "Our goal with this conference is to continue to equip our members with the latest information affecting our entire industry, and to help them stay competitive in a market that's constantly evolving."
In addition to Sawyer, other presenters include Jack Moll, senior director corporate supply chain operations division and general manager at Ethan Allen Operations Inc.; Dr. Benoit Montreuil from the Georgia Institute of Technology; Jeff Spotts, director of logistics and DC operations at National Business Furniture; and George Pezold, executive director of the Transportation and Logistics Council; David Harlow, ocean trade lane manager at UPS.
Conference registration is available online or via e-mail to Russ Matthews. Special rates and discounts are available if attendees sign up before April 13.
