RC Willey Plans 2nd California Store

Home furnishings retailer RC Willey plans to open a second store in California with a targeted opening for fall 2017.

The new store will be one of the anchor tenants in a new development in Sacramento, Calif., called Delta Shores.

The planned store follows on the heels of the retailer’s opening last April of a store in Draper, Utah, and its upcoming opening in April of a store in Orem, Utah.

“The Sacramento area has been a great market for RC Willey. The current RC Willey store in Rocklin has been very successful, and we are confident the new store will allow us to serve more customers in the Sacramento area,” said Scott Hymas, CEO of RC Willey.

The new RC Willey location will total roughly 160,000 square feet with about 130 employees. The new store will feature an open, airy and modern design in a two-story building. Glass exterior walls and skylights will allow natural light to fill the space, and the store’s interior will be graced with 14-foot ceilings on the ground floor.

Under development by Merlone Geier Partners, Delta Shores is an 800-acre, master-planned, mixed-use development, entitled for  1.3 million square feet of retail space, as well as over 4,900 residential units The project is located in the southern portion of Sacramento, adjacent to the soon to be completed Cosumnes River Boulevard interchange on Interstate 5. In addition to the new interchange, an extension of Cosumnes River Boulevard to its current point of termination at Franklin Boulevard is underway, creating the region’s most significant cross-connector between Interstate 5 and Highway 99. Both of these major infrastructure projects are slated to be complete by the end of 2015.

“M&H Realty Partners is thrilled to have RC Willey as one of the anchor tenants for our project. They will be a fantastic addition both for the project, as well as the surrounding community,” said Gary Muljat, vice president for Merlone Geier.
