Home Furnishings Business Names Senior Writer

Home Furnishings Business has named Janice Summers senior writer.
In her role, she will be contributing to the content of the magazine, HFBusiness NOW! and Designer Weekly. Based in Atlanta, Summers reports to Sheila Long O’Mara, editor in chief of Home Furnishings Business, and succeeds Powell Slaughter who has left the publication.
Summers’ experience as a writer and editor spans more than two decades. She worked in house and as a contractor for several management consulting firms, including consumer goods specialist Kurt Salmon in Atlanta, where she edited and produced a quarterly magazine for more than 10 years.
“Janice will deliver a fresh perspective on the industry,” said Long O’Mara. “Her writing style will be a nice addition to Home Furnishings Business’ voice in the furniture industry.”
Summers will be attending many of the industry’s upcoming events, and of course, High Point Market.
“I’m looking forward to providing indepth stories to inform our readers,” Summers said. “I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible within my first few months here.”
