Las Vegas Market CEO Summit a Success

Following the recent Las Vegas Market, the International Market Centers hosted its third CEO Summit.

The summit spanned two days and provided executives networking opportunities across a number of industry platforms, offered a forum for discussions facing the industry and a variety of learning experiences.

“For the past three winters, Las Vegas Market has held this one-of-a-kind event and it continues to add value for executives attending our show,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC. “The CEO Summit is consistently well-attended and continues to draw top executives from top tier companies, who want cutting-edge information so they can better lead their companies and the industry into the future.” 

IMC partnered with Eller Enterprises to host the event.

Keynote speaker Ron Insana, senior analyst with CNBC, economist and financial industry expert, kicked off the event with an economic forecast for the next 12 to 15 months. His projections were relevant to furniture, gift and home décor executives, helping to determine buying and inventory decisions into 2016.

Andreas Weinend, former chief scientist for Amazon and director of Social Data Lab, was the second-day speaker, and discussed the growth of technology and its impact on the world and commerce.

Other speakers included Tom  Morris, chairman of the Morris Institute for Human Values, Morehead Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill, and former Philosophy professor at the University of Notre Dame, who offered  a philosophical approach to running a business using sage advice from philosophers  throughout world history.  Steve Baker,vice president, The Great Game of Business, Inc. gave a well-received presentation on the advantages of being transparent with employees to achieve better performance. Lastly, Kent Panther, senior vice president with Wray Ward Creative Communications, shared measurement and analytical tools companies can use to demonstrate ROI for marketing, advertising and social media expenditures.
