DOC: Reztec Innersprings Are Evading Duties

The U.S. Department of Commerce has ruled preliminarily that innersprings from Malaysian manufacturer Reztec are evading duties imposed on Chinese producers.
Reztec is producing innersprings for export to the United States from components manufactured in China. The DOC ordered Customs & Border Patrol to to require a cash deposit of estimated duties on all unliquidated
entries of innerspring units produced by Reztec that were entered, or withdrawn from warehouse, for consumption on or after May 23, 2012, the date of initiation of the anti-circumvention inquiry.
Antidumping duties have been imposed on uncovered innerspring units from China, South Africa and Vietnam since 2009. Leggett & Platt filed the original petition for an antidumping investigation in 2007.
In a Federal Register notice of the ruling, DOC said it will issue a final ruling on the Reztec anti-circumvention inquiry no later than August 16, unless extended.
