The acquisition is expected to close by the first quarter 2015.
The purchase of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.-based Hagaman will give Nourish its first manufacturing base in the U.S. and will enhance its machine tufting capabilities.
“Hagaman’s specialized tufting equipment is well suited for making luxury wool carpet,” said Alex Peykar, principal of Nourison. “It will allow us to create products and programs to complement Nourison’s existing lines, as well as expand and enhance the well-respected Hagaman brand in the upscale carpet market.”
Nourison will continue to manufacture products under the Hagaman Carpet name adding the brand to its existing broadloom product portfolio. That portfolio includes Nourison Carpet, Nortek Carpet and Nourish Hospitality. Hagaman Carpet will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nourison, and the division will have a dedicated sales team reporting to Dan Karlin, director of broadloom sales.
Gerald O’Keefe, vice president of sales for Nourison, will oversee the Hagaman division.
Andrew Peykar, COO of Nourish, said the Hagaman Carpet is well know for its wool carpet.
“We have long been fully vertical and innovative overseas and we look forward to the opportunity to produce and develop high quality products right here in North Georgia,” Andrew Peykar said.
