Cary Benson has been named a chief executive officer of Palliser Furniture succeeding Art DeFehr, majority owner of the Canadian manufacturer.
Benson joined Palliser in 2010 and was named president in 2012.
“I am pleased that Cary will be taking on the additional responsibilities of CEO,” DeFehr said. “During his tenure, Palliser has experienced significant increases in both sales and earnings. More importantly, Cary has displayed his commitment through his leadership by respecting our family’s heritage and honoring our company’s values.”
Deferrer will remain in his position as CEO of the parent company, which has ownership in real estate, other furniture companies and the 220 Elm Street showroom building located in High Point, N.C.
“I look forward to continuing the journey we have been on over the past five years,” Benson said. “I’m fortunate to serve with a great team of employees and sales representatives throughout our company. With our manufacturing facilities in both Canada and Mexico, and our distribution facility in the United States, we are well-positioned to continue the success we have enjoyed in conjunction with our retail partners throughout North America.”
