Mark Lacy Retires from The Furniture Training Co.

Mark Lacy will retire as president of online training specialist The Furniture Training Co., effective Jan. 1.

Mike Petersen will succeed Lacy as president of FTC, Salt Lake City.

Lacy’s closes nearly 18 years of service to FTC and its parent company, LetterPress Software Inc.

“Mark’s vision for service in the retail furniture industry was vital to the formation of The Furniture Training Company," said Petersen. "We are grateful for the many valuable contributions Mark has made over the course of his career. His training talents and industry insights have been a real blessing to the company. Mark really cares about customer service and that has been the hallmark of his career.”

“Twenty years of training experience coupled with his background in instructional design make Mike the natural choice to succeed Mark," said LetterPress President Leston Drake. "He understands training and knows the furniture industry well. His enthusiasm for improving the lives of professionals in the furniture industry will lead The Furniture Training Co. into its next, exciting chapter. We are preparing to launch some new initiatives and we’ll rely on Mike’s leadership to capitalize on these
upcoming opportunities.”

sales training for the home furnishings industry. With more than 120 modules in the areas of selling skills, product knowledge, room design, customer service, and mattress sales, FTC has trained more than 16,000 salespeople from more than 1,000 furniture companies.
