FastFact: Industry Sales Inch Up through Q3

Overall sales for the bedding and furniture industry through the third quarter of 2014 have increased by 2.6 percent over the same period in 2013.
Bedding, with the exclusion of furniture is up 4.5 percent, with sales of $9.7 billion through the third quarter. Through the third quarter of 2013, bedding sales totaled $9.3 billion.
Considering sales for the first three quarters of 2014, the industry should post an increase in total sales from 2013. Total sales for furniture and bedding sit at $65 billion through the third quarter. This figure is 2.6 percent more than the same period last year.
