BDI Corridor Console Takes CDG “Eddy”

Home furnishings supplier BDI’s Corridor media console took the first Edward Haimsohn Design Award presented by the Contemporary Design Group at its annual meeting in Coral Gables, Fla.

The award, created by the retail group to honor and recognize design excellence, was bestowed by following six criteria: originality, creativity, consumer appeal, use of materials, functionality and manufacturing execution.

CDG received more than 30 submissions for the award, which was named in honor of the group’s co-founder Edward Haimsohn, a stickler for design and attention to quality. Haimsohn is now retired and lives in San Diego.

BDI’s Bill Becker, founder, owner and design director, accepted the award from Jacob Harlow, owner of The Century House and CDG board member.
