An accomplished operational manager and designer who graduated from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida, Blum will support the David Francis team to expand the depth and breadth of its entire furniture collection.
Blum’s new role encompasses a number of executive responsibilities, including furniture design, operations, customer service, logistics and sales planning. With a strong background in furniture design and operations, Blum will direct the creative and manufacturing processes to steer the company into new territory over next few years.
“As the company’s design direction has taken on a more contemporary spin over the last few years, we have searched for a source of new inspiration who can capture classic design while adding a new interpretation to our collections. In Catherine I believe I have found the perfect combination of cutting edge spirit and sophisticated soul,” remarked David Francis, CEO and chief designer. “Much of the inspiration contributing to our more contemporary look this year can be directly attributed to the fresh perspective yet classic eye Catherine adds to the David Francis Team. I have personally enjoyed working with her, experimenting with new materials and pushing my own creative boundaries with the 2015 line.”
“Growing up in a family business where we manufacture exclusive furniture constructed overseas has given me the privilege of seeing the world and in doing so, made me a seasoned global traveler," Blum said. "I have had the privilege of working with international designers to bring exclusive collections back home under the David Francis Furniture collection.
“I hope to use this experience coupled with my operational background to bring a new dimension to the David Francis Furniture Collection.”
