Flexsteel to Boost Employment at New Distribution Center

Home furnishings supplier Flexsteel Inds. plans to add 141 employees to its newly purchased distribution center in Edgerton, Mo.
Flexsteel Industries Inc., one of the nation's oldest and largest furniture manufacturers, will add 141 jobs at the 500,000-square-foot distribution facility it recently bought at Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton.
Bob Marcusse, CEO of the Kansas City Area Development Council, said Flexsteel's annual payroll will be $4.5 million. In addition, it will make a $35 million capital investment in the LPKC facility, which was developed by NorthPoint Development on speculative basis, meaning without a tenant or buyer.
