David Van Elslander Named SVP, President of Art Van Pure Sleep

In his new position, Van Elslander is responsible for the overall guidance and growth of Art Van Puresleep. He will oversee new product, manufacturing, marketing and sales initiatives for Art Van Puresleep in freestanding stores, in-store galleries and franchise locations.
Over the past seven years during Van Elslander’s tenure as vice president of merchandising for Art Van Puresleep, Art’s Backyard, and the Art Van Furniture Clearance Center, the retailer’s clearance center has experienced 80 percent growth.
“David is poised to direct the rapid growth and continued evolution of Art Van PureSleep,” said Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van Furniture, Warren, Mi. “His vast experience, unique vision and strong leadership will propel our industry-leading brand as we continue to expand across the Midwest.”
Van Elslander joined Art Van Furniture in 1982, holding various positions in sales, merchandising, distribution and customer service. He left Art Van Furniture in 1990 to serve as vice president of merchandising for Scott Shuptrine, and rejoined the company in January of 2006.
