Kevin Sauder Will Lead AHFA in '15

Kevin SauderKevin Sauder, president and CEO of Sauder Woodworking, Archbold, Ohio, was elected 2015 chairman of the American Home Furnishings Alliance during the group’s annual meeting today in Sea Island, Ga.

Kevin O’Connor, CEO of Samson Marketing, High Point, was named first vice chairman; and Richard Magnussen, Magnussen Home Furnishings, New Hamburg Ontario, was named second vice chairman.

The 2014 chairman, George Revington, CEO of Home Meridian International, High Point, now moves to immediate past-chairman of the Board of Directors. All of the new officers assume their posts on Jan. 1.

Executives newly elected to three-year terms on the AHFA Board of Directors include: Roy Calcagne, Craftmaster Furniture, Taylorsville, N.C.; Karel Czanderna, Flexsteel Inds., Dubuque, Iowa; Doug Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett Furniture, Galax, Va.; Todd Evans, Standard Furniture, Bay Minette, Ala.; Randy Wells, Gloster Furniture, South Boston, Va.; Bruce Birnbach, American Leather, Dallas, Texas; and Jeb Bassett, Bassett Furniture, Bassett, Va.

AHFA, based in High Point, represents more than 200 leading furniture manufacturers and distributors, along with about 150 suppliers to the furniture industry worldwide. AHFA serves as the residential furniture industry’s advocate in Washington, D.C., on all legislative and regulatory matters and leads the development of voluntary environmental, product safety and construction standards for home furnishings. Membership is open to all manufacturers and distributors of home furnishings for the U.S. market, as well as to suppliers to the industry.
