Jeff Harris is the new president and CEO of Furnitureland South, the Jamestown, N.C., home furnishings super store.
The move comes three months after the death of Harris' father, former CEO Darrell Harris, who with his wife, Stella Harris, founded Furnitureland South in 1969.
Stella Harris now is chairwoman of the company. Her son and co-owner Jason Harris serves as a business strategist for Furnitureland South while focusing primarily on his duties as founder, president and CEO of The Design Network, an online resource for consumers looking for home furnishings design ideas and inspiration.
"My mother, Jason, and I will continue to work closely together to develop the long-term strategy for the growth and success of Furnitureland South," Jeff Harris said in a release.
Furnitureland South, which has more than 1 million square feet of showroom space on its campus, along with a climate-controlled distribution center, has about 450 employees in the Triad.
The company's sales force is 150-plus strong, and its delivery team serves customers nationwide.
