FastFact: Top-Earning U.S. Counties

The 46 top-earning counties in the United States account for a third of the nation's overall personal income.
It's a financial powerhouse of a group, however, the counties account for only 1 percent for the country's 3,141 counties.
The top three counties, with more than $50 billion in personal income, are: Los Angeles, Calif., (Los Angeles, Long Beach and Glendale, MSA); Cook, Ill., (Chicago, Joliet, Naperville MSA); and Harris, Texas (Houston, Sugarland and Baytown MSA).
