Murphy Beds Excluded from Bedroom Duties

The U.S. Department of Commerce has exempted Murphy beds from duties collected under the antidumping order on wooden bedroom furniture from China.

In March, Chinese manufacturer Techcraft had requested a changed circumstance review to revoke the order on Murphy bed wall units. U.S. petitioners for the original antidumping investigation of Chinese bedroom furniture were in agreement, leading to DOC's preliminary ruling to exclude such beds from the order, thus excluding them from duties.

DOC made an initial ruling to lift duties on the beds in August.

After DOC received no comments against the action it made its final determination to exclude Murphy beds from the scope of the antidumping order.
