        A new report from Unity Marketing on affluent consumers' home furnishings spending habits, "Cocooning in New Luxury Style", is the basis for a new blog series designed to offer vendors and retailers ways they can use the data to drive business and for marketing and branding purposes.
   Unity's research indicated that the U.S. home furnishings market reached $315.3 billion in 2007, only to retreat to $273.5 billion in 2009 as it hit bottom in the recession; and that not until 2013 did the market return to pre-recession levels, when industry sales were $315.9 billion.
