FastFact: Household Incomes Hold Steady

Although the economy has improved since 2009, when the Great Recession hit rock bottom, median household incomes have remained flat.
According to a 2012 report from the U.S. Census Bureau, the median household income with inflation adjustments factored into it, was $51,017. The 2012 median income dropped 8.3 percent from 2007 and 4.3 percent from 2009.
