Kalaty Teams with Fashion Designer Josie Natori
The initial Natori launch will include approximately 20 designs that are divided into two separate series, each showcasing the designer’s high-fashion philosophy and signature sense of color. The two Natori series are:
• Dynasty, unique modern designs that are boldly colored and energetic, hand knotted of 100 percent wool.
• Shangri-La, modern geometric patterns with subtle tonal colorations in a Loriloom weave, available in 100 percent wool or a wool-and-Silkette blend.
“It is an honor for our company to be associated with a charismatic fashion icon such as Josie Natori and her heritage brand, Natori,” said Ariel Kalaty, a spokesperson for Kalaty, Hicksville, N.Y. “Her signature East-meets-West aesthetic translates perfectly into the rug collections, which feature classic Natori pattern, texture and color. We look forward to adding to the collection over the course of future markets.”
Natori’s fashion empire encompasses ready-to-wear, lingerie, a new Josie
fragrance introduced earlier this year, as well as a new freestanding boutique in New York City’s Nolita neighborhood. Natori rugs will complement existing home offerings in bedding, bath towels, beach towels, home accents and home fragrance.
“Textiles are one of my passions, and it has long been a dream of mine to have a rug collection," Natori said. "I look forward to presenting this exciting new venture with Kalaty in January. Our design aesthetic has translated well into all of our home categories, and rugs represent the perfect next step.”
Each of the Natori brand collections--Josie Natori, Natori, N Natori and Josie by Natori--is a reflection of the namesake designer's distinctive East/West aesthetic. Natori products are available in the world's leading retailers and specialty stores, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Dillard's, among others.
