Hooker Names Hall VP of Merchandising

Cindy HallHooker Furniture (NASDAQ-GS: HOFT) has promoted Cindy Hall from director of merchandising to vice president of merchandising.

Hall is responsible primarily for merchandising and product development for collections at the upper end of Hooker’s case goods line, along with developing accent furniture and the Mélange brand of eclectic fashion accents, bedroom and dining furniture. She was a co-creator of the Mélange brand nearly five years ago.

She reports to Hank Long, senior vice president of merchandising and design.

In addition, Hall is responsible for developing the 75-piece new Studio 7H lifestyle collection to appeal to millennial consumers that will be introduced at this month’s High Point Market.

“Cindy has brought winning collections in our upper end categories over the past several market cycles,” said Long. “She has a great passion for the business and outstanding relationships with our customers, designers and suppliers. She’s consistently demonstrated a willingness to learn and grow, and she challenges her team to do the same.”

Hall is the recipient of two Pinnacle Design Awards, in 2012 and 2011, in the categories of Occasional Tables and Occasional Storage, both for pieces within the Mélange Collection.

Joining Hooker 24 years ago, Hall has served in several areas of the business including customer service, imports and merchandising. In addition to her product development responsibilities, the merchandising support and administration and showroom set-up staffs reports to her.

She is a graduate of Averett University and a member of Withit, the home furnishings professional women’s leadership development network.
