Klaussner Home Furnishings' online furniture training course, Klaussner University Learn and Earn, has been recognized with a 2014 Educational Software Review Award for vocational training.
The 19th annual EDDIE Awards, sponsored by the ComputEd Learning Center, recognizes innovation, content-rich education and training programs using technology. Selection criteria include content, potential for broad use, technical merit, subject approach, and management system. Winners are selected from courses submitted by organizations worldwide.
Klaussner University's online furniture training course is hosted on The Furniture Training Company Web site and is free to sales associates working for Klaussner Home Furnishings dealers. Klaussner University was designed and developed by LetterPress Software, parent company of The Furniture Training Company.
“We are really excited and gratified to have Klaussner University receive such a prestigious learning award," said Klaussner President and CEO Bill Wittenberg. "It certainly recognizes the commitment we're making to providing our dealers and their sales associates with the best product training in the industry.”
Klaussner University uses interactive Web-based technologies to train salespeople how to sell Klaussner upholstery (including motion upholstery) and case goods. Using media-rich online training modules, testing, and in-store learning activities the program ensures sales associates actually increase sales. An automated learning management system tracks associates' progress and allows dealers to monitor their participation.
“The training really works," said Len Burke, Asheboro, N.C.-based Klaussner's vice president of marketing. "Evaluations from certified sales associates show that 96 percent of those completing the course say it is easy to use, 97 percent enjoy the training, and 93 percent report that the Klaussner training has increased their sales.”
