Bassett Mirror Readies Trend Rooms for Market

Buyers shopping the Bassett Mirror Co. showroom at the Oct. 18-23 High Point Furniture Market will see new displays showcasing the company's unique Total Fashion Solution design approach.

The process of creating the Total Fashion Solution displays starts with a blank canvas and a wealth of team-sourced color, pattern and material inspirations gathered from global markets, fashion runways and store visits. Then, through a series of creative brainstorming sessions and mood board edits, Bassett Mirror's design team distills these insights into a list of key influences and directions that are shaping the market. These findings are then used to create a group of on-trend showroom displays presenting the most important current design and lifestyle preferences.

"Our design team works throughout the year to develop rooms that will inspire and amaze our retailers and customers," said Tonya Davis, assistant vice president of visual communications for Bassett Mirror Co., Bassett, Va. "Our inspiration comes from a combination of raw materials and finished products, including basic sketches, wallpaper samples, paint swatches, artwork and furniture."

Two examples of the Total Fashion Solution approach are "Young Preppy," a new room being developed for the October market, and "The London Flat," a popular room created for the April show.

The Young Preppy trend room will be unveiled in the company's showroom (IHFC space G170) during the upcoming. Grounded in contrasting hues of cobalt and white, the finished room conveys a youthful, vibrant spirit through its creative combinations of mirrors, lamps and artwork. Brass-accented lacquer and porcelain tile will add touches of complementary color and flair.

Bassett Mirror's London Flat room from April Market made a bold, eclectic statement by juxtaposing a clean, white sofa with bold black furniture.

Bassett Mirror's Total Fashion Solution, launched last fall, is a market-driven, cross-merchandised display approach designed to elevate the shopping experience. Drawing on its eclectic assortment of fashion-forward furniture, accessories and accents, Bassett Mirror creates fully coordinated room settings for display in its market showroom, providing buyers with ideas that can be used in their own stores--either as entire rooms, or as elements of other settings.
