Elements International Achieves Security Certification

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has certified bedroom furniture importer Elements International Group as a partner in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.

As a member of C-TPAT, Elements, Rockwall, Texas, has committed to new and improved security procedures throughout its operations. New procedures are designed to enhance the security of its facilities, cargo shipping and cargo receiving processes.

Elements’ goal is to prevent cargo loss and cargo tampering, including the introduction of illegal merchandise such as drugs and weapons of mass destruction into its cargo boxes and containers. As a part of its commitment, Elements now requires employees to be trained on the standard security practices specific to their company’s compliance with their C-TPAT partnership.

“We feel it’s important that Elements participates in assisting CBP [Customs Border Protection] in their efforts to secure international trade," said Elements Vice President Carly Weiner.

"By closing security gaps and implementing the best practices, we’re now considered a lowered risk account. We’re excited about the advantages our customers gain by our certification including minimized delays on containers due to less security exams as well as receiving container shipping priority."

"We’re very thankful to each of our valued customers for helping us to accomplish this 1st tier certification by providing important documentation during our application process. Their assistance is greatly appreciated.”
