2014 by in Industry, Licensing
The six-week sweepstakes, which closed June 1, gave customers participating at furniture stores across the United States and Canada an opportunity to win a room makeover including furniture and design consultation services from HGTV host, Todd Davis. Six other entrants would win a roomful of furniture from the HGTV Home Furniture Collection.
Dee Gatte, whose local HGTV Home Furniture retailer is Fitzgerald Home Furnishings (formerly Routzahn’s Way Furniture) in Frederick, Md., was randomly selected as the Grand Prize winner. The design staff from the store will work with Gatte to select $5,000 worth of HGTV Home Furniture Collection pieces to makeover one room in her home. Gatte also received a personalized design consultation at Fitzgerald Home Furnishings with Room Crashers host, Todd Davis, next month.
“This is extra exciting for me because I’ve never won anything, so big ‘woohoo’,” said Gatte when she learned the good news.
“We are proud to carry the HGTV Home line of furniture in our store and are thrilled that the Room Crashers grand prize winner is one of our own local Frederick customers,” said John Fitzgerald, president of Fitzgerald Home Furnishings.
Six other winners were drawn, each receiving $5,000 worth of HGTV Home Furniture Collection pieces from their local HGTV Home Furniture retailer. Those winners, and the stores in which they registered for the sweepstakes, are: Pam Lovera, Art Van Furniture, Novi, Mi.; Anne Carrelli, Jordan’s Furniture, Victoria, B.C.; Leslie Mueller, Stacy Furniture & Design, Grapevine, Texas; Elmina Taylor, Baer’s Furniture, Sarasota, Fla.; Aaron Kiessling, Furniture Fair, Loveland, Ohio; and Sue Current, American Home, Albuquerque, N.M.
Sixty-eight HGTV Home Furniture Collection locations participated in the promotion which kicked off April 21. HGTV Home Furniture Collection employed direct-to-consumer e-blasts, supported retailers’ TV, print and digital ads, created special in-store graphics and pushed content through a host of social media channels to engage consumers to visit their area retail showrooms at which they could register to win.
Renee Loper, HGTV Home Furniture’s vice president of marketing, said, “The purpose of the promotion was to continue building our brand equity with consumers by providing a fun, engaging HGTV-style ‘moment’ between our consumers and retailers.”
