The collaboration's first collection comprising more than 100 originally designed pieces will launch in April 2015.
Thomas O’Brien brings more than 25 years of interior design, retail furniture and product design experience to his collaboration with Century.
O'Brien did have a license with Heritage Home brand Hickory Chair.
“Thomas is one of the brightest lights in the home and interior product design space,” said Alex Shuford III, president of Century Furniture. "His professionalism and attention to detail are unrivaled, and as far as I can tell, only surpassed by his feel for the marketplace. I think Thomas sets trends by knowing what people really want to live with, while understanding the history and craftsmanship that make objects hold value. And what really matters is that he is simply a great guy and a joy to be around."
O’Brien’s new collection for Century has been conceived as a very diverse offering that carefully mixes a variety of styles and periods, from modern to traditional, casual to fine. It will showcase Century’s broad spectrum of finish and detail capabilities and bridge the company’s domestic casegoods and upholstery capabilities with its ability to source globally.
“I am thrilled to be working with Century Furniture,” O’Brien said. “This collection feels like more than just a new beginning. It’s a next chapter that builds on all that I have learned and continue to experiment with, from the interiors I design to my shop and meeting customers every week at Aero. Designing furniture has always been a tremendous favorite of mine, and this partnership with Century allows me to explore so many new ideas along with things I’ve wanted to make for years.”
