Schewel Furniture to Open in Richmond, Va. Market

Lynchburg, Va.-based Schewel Furniture Co. is moving toward the opening of a new store in the Richmond, Va., market.
Lynchburg-based Schewel Furniture Co. Inc. plans to open its first store in the Richmond region later this year.
The family-owned company bought a former furniture showroom at 7800 W. Broad St. in Henrico County last month.
Schewel co-owner Donna Schewel Clark said Tuesday that the retailer is remodeling the space and expects to open a Schewels store there in early fall.
“We think Richmond will be a great market for us,” she said.
