Thor Taber has been named to the newly created position of vice president of North American design for high-end furniture producer Theodore Alexander.
Taber will focus on the design and development of furniture, including all wood, metal and upholstered products for the company’s North American market. He comes to Theodore Alexander from Hickory Chair where he was senior furniture designer since 2008. He is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Kendall College of Art and Design where he was selected as a Celia Moh Scholar.
Taber will be based in High Point at the company's U.S. headquarters where he will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to design and develop products.
He reports to Anthony Cox, executive vice president and creative director for Theodore Alexander.
“Thor is a young, versatile designer who has already proven his immense design skills and understanding of evolving market trends," Cox said. "He exhibits drive, vision and taste, and we are pleased he has joined our outstanding design team.”
Russell Towner, Theodore Alexander USA’s president, said the company has always been known for its dedication to design. “Having Thor engaged solely in product design initiatives for North America further reinforces our commitment to delivering best in class design to this key market,” Towner said.
