Cory Supports Women with Women@Cory

Cory Home Delivery recently hosted an event throughout its Women@Cory program featuring a number of speakers from across the country who led a discussion targeted to women in the trucking industry.

The Women@Cory program, started in 2012, has a mission to provide development and advancement opportunities to women who achieve results, demonstrate potential, and express the desire to grow.

“Cory is fortunate to have a number of well-qualified women on board who have interest in career guidance presented by successful women leaders inside and outside of our company,” said Patrick Cory, CEO.

Speakers included Aimee Boozer, vice president of Sun Delivery, a nationwide provider of white-glove furniture delivery, based in Thomasville, N.C., and Ellen Voie, founder of the Women in Trucking Association, headquartered in Reno, Nev.

“Both women have been incredibly successful in their own environments and were generous to share their personal stories, insights, and lessons learned in their professional journeys,” said Johanna Soto, Cory’s vice president of support services and leader of the Women@Cory program.

The discussion, informed by years of experience in operations and encouraging non-traditional groups to consider careers in the industry, covered identifying opportunities, establishing relationship, navigating internal cultures, and provided attendees with the opportunity for sharing their own experiences.
