Online home furnishings retailer Hayneedle.com has struck a partnership with Google to add a search app to its Web site.
The search function will make it easier for shoppers to find what they're looking for to create a dream home.
“With more than 600 million custom furniture combinations now available at hayneedle.com, we need a powerful search engine that helps us fulfill our commitment to providing the best online shopping experience in the industry,” said Brian Moen, chief marketing officer with Hayneedle. “Thanks to Google we now have a custom platform that thinks the way our customers search. That means we can customize landing locations for customers’ product searches to include their favorite products and brands in the results. We’re also applying custom synonym and misspelling functions to help customers find products even if they don’t type in the correct search term.”
The Google Search Appliance (GSA) takes the search experience shared by millions of people across the globe online at Google and harnesses it for the specific search needs of Hayneedle's customers.
“Not only can we point customers toward products that are the most relevant to their searches, we can suggest products that have the highest quality and best customer satisfaction ratings,” Moen said. “Overall, our customers are able to find products quicker and more efficiently, giving them more time to enjoy the inspiring rooms and settings they are creating.”
Since launching Google Search, Hayneedle has experienced growth of more than 20 percent in revenue per search with a 12 percent conversion lift, the company said.
