Gallery Set to Break Ground on Largest Showroom

Houston furniture retailer Gallery Furniture will break ground Tuesday on its third and largest showroom.

At 10:30 a.m., the retailer will dig the first shovel at the site of the 165,000-square-foot store, located at The Market at Long Meadow Farms in the Houston suburb of Richmond. The new location is expected to open in late November or early December. Festivities will include a special appearance from the Brookwood Community hand bell choir and end with an "awe-inspiring" surprise.

The store will include amenities such as an indoor playground and tree house for children and a full-service restaurant. The new Gallery Furniture also will include an area where residents of The Brookwood Community for disabled adults will sell their products. Services available also include Gallery Movers, a full-service moving company that utilizes the stores' highly trained and meticulous delivery staff.

Those in attendance will include Jim “Mack” McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture; Keenon Rayner, principal, Identity Architects; Dave Cannon, principal, Trend Development; Commissioner James Patterson, Fort Bend County, Precinct 4; and Yvonne Tuttle Streit, founder of The Brookwood Community.
