EQ3 plans to open a retail showroom in San Francisco's Design District at the end of this month.
The company, a contemporary furnishings retailer and supplier started in 2001 by Palliser, will open the showroom May 31.
The company's partnership with Marimekko, a Finnish design house, will continue, and the showroom will feature a shop-within-a-shop. The new showroom will feature EQ3's custom-made upholstery and home furnishings, as well as its EQ3+ line of handpicked, internationally renowned products from brands like Herman Miller and Alessi.
"We are proud to be joining San Francisco's design district neighborhood—it's a dynamic area of history and textiles in San Francisco and is known as the ultimate furniture shopping destination," said Peter Tielmann, president and CEO of EQ3.
The newly renovated 12,000-square-foot space created a modern aesthetic in a historic warehouse building. Designed by Thom Fougere, EQ3 creative director, the showroom features two areas—the front half of the showroom featuring the company's accessories boutique intermingled with the furniture line, and the back half showing the retailer's complete collection through a minimalist presentation.
The Marimekko shop offers the company's bedding, shower curtains, table ware, kitchen linens and pillows.
"We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with EQ3", said Isabelle Cadieux-Fabian, president, Marimekko North America. "Marimekko has a rich history in San Francisco and with this newest shop-in-shop we will see the iconic prints return, along with new designs and an ever changing color palette."
